Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Policy
Recyclable products, packaging waste and circular economy
Effective date: June 5, 2026 · Version 1.0 · Responsible business: Anormal Popup
Anormal, we value environmental sustainability and the circular economy. As we sell recyclable products and packaging, we are subject to EU Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations. This policy explains our responsibilities and commitments regarding products and packaging at the end of their life cycle.
1. What is EPR?
Extended Producer Responsibility is an EU policy that holds producers and businesses that first place products/packaging on the market responsible for the cost and organization of post-consumer collection, recycling, and disposal of their products. As a distance seller sending packaged products to the EU market, Anormal is considered a "producer/obligated party."
2. Scope — Which Product Streams?
Depending on our product portfolio, the following EPR streams may apply:
-
Packaging: All product packaging (cardboard, plastic, glass, metal) — our primary EPR obligation.
-
Electrical & electronic products (WEEE): Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2012/19/EU) for electrical home & living products.
-
Batteries & accumulators: The new Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 for products containing batteries.
3. Applicable EU Legislation

The new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) replaces the old Directive 94/62/EC; it introduces harmonized rules across the EU, national producer registers, tiered EPR fees based on recyclability, and harmonized (color-coded) labeling.
4. Our Obligations in Romania

Legal basis: Romanian Law no. 249/2015 regarding the management of packaging and packaging waste.
-
Registration: Registration in the National Producer Register at the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM).
-
No threshold: There is no de minimis exemption in Romania; every volume placed on the market is subject to EPR.
-
PRO/OIREP membership: We fulfill our obligations through an authorized Producer Responsibility Organization (OIREP/PRO).
-
Representative: Businesses selling from abroad may appoint a fiscal/legal representative in Romania.
-
Labeling: Packaging features legible and permanent material code and recycling (Mobius loop / triangle arrow) markings.
5. Our Obligations in Belgium
In Belgium, where our company headquarters is located, compliance is ensured through authorized EPR organizations:
-
Fost Plus — household packaging waste.
-
Recupel — electrical & electronic waste (WEEE).
-
Bebat — batteries and accumulators.
6. Anormal's Commitments
-
To use recyclable, reduced, and sustainable packaging whenever possible.
-
To provide correct recycling labeling on packaging and products.
